چکیده

The non-overlapping Domain Decomposition (DD) method is a powerful tool for the coupling of Finite Element (FE) and Boundary Element (BE) methods. Moreover it provides a natural basis for constructing eecient parallel solvers. However, both, the eeciency and the robustness of DD{solvers depends heavily on the underlying decomposition of the domain of interest into subdomains. In this paper, we introduce the Adaptive Domain Decomposition Preprocessor ADDPre which realizes an automatic decomposition of the computational domain into p subdomains, where p is the number of processors to be used. We discuss the codes being involved, the algorithms which they are based on and the data{formats being used for describing the decomposition of the problem. Numerical examples, demonstrating the performance of the preprocessor are presented.

Evaluation of Signal Preprocessing Methods for the Detection of Endometrial Cacer by Using near Infrared Spectroscopy

Several signal preprocessing methods used to correct near-infrared (NIR) spectra of different endometrial tissue sections have been evaluated in this paper. The real tissues sections of normal, hyperplasia, and malignant samples were used. To extract useful information and to remove the interference and background, some preprocessing methods have been compared. Particularly, spectra of the tiss...

Strict lower bounds with separation of sources of error in non-overlapping domain decomposition methods

This article deals with the computation of guaranteed lower bounds of the error in the framework of finite element (FE) and domain decomposition (DD) methods. In addition to a fully parallel computation, the proposed lower bounds separate the algebraic error (due to the use of a DD iterative solver) from the discretization error (due to the FE), which enables the steering of the iterative solve...

OPTIMAL DECOMPOSITION OF FINITE ELEMENT MESHES VIA K-MEDIAN METHODOLOGY AND DIFFERENT METAHEURISTICS

In this paper the performance of four well-known metaheuristics consisting of Artificial Bee Colony (ABC), Biogeographic Based Optimization (BBO), Harmony Search (HS) and Teaching Learning Based Optimization (TLBO) are investigated on optimal domain decomposition for parallel computing. A clique graph is used for transforming the connectivity of a finite element model (FEM) into that of the cor...

Output-only Modal Analysis of a Beam Via Frequency Domain Decomposition Method Using Noisy Data

The output data from a structure is the building block for output-only modal analysis. The structure response in the output data, however, is usually contaminated with noise. Naturally, the success of output-only methods in determining the modal parameters of a structure depends on noise level. In this paper, the possibility and accuracy of identifying the modal parameters of a simply supported...

Evaluating the Effect of Dissipated Viscous Energy of a Rolling Tire on Stress, Strain and Deformation Fields Using an Efficient 2D FE Analysis

The dissipated energy from periodic deformation is regarded as the main reason for heat generation and temperature rise inside the tire domain. However, the mechanical behavior of rubber parts is highly temperature dependent. In most performed investigations, the influence of thermal effects on stress/ deformation fields of pneumatic tires is ignored and just temperature distribution is conside...
